About us
The Scandinavian Physiological Society (SPS) was founded in 1925 and has now supported physiological sciences in the Nordic countries for almost a century.
The primary goal of SPS is to stimulate and support the progression of research and teaching within physiological sciences across the Nordic countries.
The Scandinavian Physiological Society
- Owns and manages the international journal Acta Physiologica (founded in 1889)
- Organizes and support scientific meetings and symposia
- Grants scientific awards and travel grants
- Supports the career development of young researchers
- Supports special interest groups (SIGs) in various disciplines
- Supports a number of other activities
